David Raphael, DDSBoard Certified Pediatric Dentist Dr. David Raphael, grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. He met his wife, Lesley, in high school. After living in Boston, New York, San Diego, and Baltimore, they moved to Portland in 2010. David went to college at Tufts University in Boston where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biopsychology and Master's degree in Child Development. At Tufts, Dr. David played lacrosse and spearheaded efforts to increase community outreach among his teammates and fellow athletes. After graduating, he taught middle and high school math and coached lacrosse first in Boston and then San Diego. Dr. David earned his dental degree from the University of Maryland. He came to OHSU for his residency in Pediatric Dentistry where he trained to work with children who have a variety of dental and medical needs. Dr. David is active in community service projects in the Portland area and has gone on dental missions to India, Bolivia, and Guatemala. He was previously an Assistant Professor in the Pediatric Dentistry Department at Doernbecher Children's Hospital. Dr. David and his wife, Lesley, have two boys and a dog. They stay busy with sports, music, travel, and adventure! Dr. David is busy at home and at work but still tries to carve out some time to enjoy his favorite outdoor activities: surfing, skiing, and running his dog around Eastern Oregon. Dr. David's goal is to provide a dental experience that is safe and fun for children. He takes the time to work with children and parents to make sure that they feel comfortable and confident that they are receiving the best treatment available. Meet Ziggy – Dr. David’s Dog!
